Eminem - Rap God (Explicit)
Finally watched "Eminem - Rap God (Explicit)" #GoodStuff I heard the song and was like cool. Saw the video it drove it home even better. There's so much going on; he pays homage, he drops subliminals and he overtly responds to taunts. It's a masterfully crafted rap. And it's better for you when you know all the things he's referencing.

Tyler, The Creator - Tamale
Brand new video from Tyler The Creator of Odd Future aka Wolf Gang or Golf Wang. As always a colorful video not only in visuals but in language. But how do you feel about it? Is it sensational for shock values sake or does the leader of the pack really have something to say? Maybe the question is because this is music, can you relate? If not do you enjoy it? Is there any aspect of this entire production that resonates with you?

"I Am Not A Threat"
It is my challenge to navigate this perceived
reality as a ‘black’ man daily, for it is assumed I am a threat to ‘all’
of the people who I encounter. For me it isn’t simply a maze of
avoiding confrontation with law enforcement and would be Zimmermans.
That’s what all the conversations are typically about. A gloomy, hate
and fearful cloud of rape culture ideology hangs above my head as well.
But I am not a predator. I realize that on every space on this planet
though that I would not be prejudged and perceived as a threat. Thing
is, I live in America. I live in New York the city that never sleeps. I
overstand it. I am not upset. But I am not the average ‘black’ man who
as well is not a threat. I sympathize with him. There’s a pain that
lives inside of many ‘black’ men. I’m fortunate to not suffer from this
pain but recognize that it does exist. The matter at hand is that far
too many people who are not ‘black’ men fail to acknowledge that
possibility that what I described even exists.
I appreciate all the ladies that I encounter each day who speak to ‘me’ first (and I’m talkin when I’m fully bearded out, not shaped up and ready for a wedding.) Treat me nicely, proving that not all women walk around afraid of men. ‘Black’ men. I am grateful for that. It aides my challenge. Makes me smile.

@YCTheCynic - "Murphy's Law"
The kid's come a long way in a relatively short time. I just saw this video up on the Esquire magazine website. Switched up the flow, I see what he's doing. Same content, proving you can spit in a way that's palatable to the masses current frequency and actually say something.

Brad Paisley - Accidental Racist (feat. LL Cool J) A Conscious repsonse...
I think it was a poor song. I think the sentiments relayed are relatable to a whole lot of people . I feel if Brad Paisley is being genuine, it's brave of him to sing such a song considering his constituents. There are a few lines that are very powerful. I think LL Cool J's verse was wack but still it expressed some real issues. This type of song is in no way new. I think seeing as we're in this made up 'post-racial' Amerika this song is regarded as tremendously terrible not because of how bad it is songwise but by how it's speaking on something that hasn't changed in America. I think that another emcee could have penned a more profound verse. But it still wouldn't matter for the most part.Conscious

Lyrics:
Verse 1
I ain't no molly popper, but Molly I'd probably pop her
I like that white meat this week, next week I gotta choppa
NASDAQ, I got her poppa, Phantom of the Opera
Put that mask on'em, no cuffin, I ain't trynah lock'er
I ain't trynah rock her - No kilt, No jeggins
No jump, No broom - No royal weddin
Anchor to Pyrex no sir, Singing siren tried to chop me`
Surveys say, was sposed to chose her, no carbon copy
My borrowed time piece, my life of crime sheet
I watch the signs, skeet, then move on at a Modern Times speed
I learned my lessons undressin the specimen no misdirectin,
no room fullah yes men flexin, with too much S-dren
Surprised at how I killed the game with no loaded weapon
I keep it tame, keep my shirt on, I ain't David Beckham
you sippin lean, ain't on your deen with crippled fingers
there ain't no I but there's a me in team and I'm your leader

@glamirock - Feel [#Video]
First impressions are lasting ones they say. Fortunately for me that isn't always the case. I was introduced to Glam.I.Rock via the song "SMS". Totally didn't 'feel' it. This one though, not so bad. Perusing her Youtube titles I'm sure there's more I'll like. I was also made aware of her talent as a musician, I'm interested in hearing what else she has to offer. (Shout out to @DrPostALot for tweeting me the link to this video.)

@ilovenyhiphop New Blog Devoted to NY Hiphop Launches
If you're an artist in New York, you may feel some kind of way about the fact that New York radio simply doesn't play enough of it's own. There's a radio show in the works and some major things cooking, but until then we have the internet. On this blog what you'll get is audio and video from New York Hiphop artists. Cut and dry. Subscribe to the mailing list. Follow us on Twitter. Like the Facebook page and support New York artists. Don't complain about what's not happening. MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN.

In times like these, Dark Comedy is no laughing matter. So with all jokes aside, we wanted to put a satirical spin on A$AP Rocky's "Fuckin' Problem" in order to address current events and issues. Events and issues that include the school shooting in Connecticut, gun control, mental health, and America's prescription drug addition amongst others. RIP to everyone that lost their lives in the Newtown, CT school shooting and the innocent lives lost everyday in these streets and around the world.

Open Letter To Hip Hop... by Donny Goines
Dear Hip Hop,
This is a difficult letter for me to write. Last year, I caused many problems within our community. Whether right or wrong, I made decisions that impacted our culture in a negative manner as a whole.
Some of you have known me for years, others for a short period of time but nonetheless I’ve always embraced my fellow artists and everyone within this realm with a smile and open arms. Humility, love, honor and respect are the four cornerstones of my career and I am ashamed to admit that I haven’t lived up to those standards as of late.
Unification has always been one of my primary agendas as an artist. My passion and zeal helped me create wonderful moments throughout the years that I will never forget but negative actions temporary clouded my judgment. I couldn’t see the damage I was causing but in hindsight the effects were visceral.
I regret nothing because the actions I took helped me to become a stronger and smarter man but moving forward I have to understand how my words and movements can affect those around me. Spirituality, family, growth, knowledge and mentoring have caused me to face the error of my ways and I don’t like the image staring back. With that being said, I have to become the change.
I decided to take on the position of Brand Ambassador for Artists.MTV and continue my BARS series for two simple reasons. The first, I have to rectify the mistakes I’ve caused by showing the world that unity in Hip Hop is important. Secondly, I remember the first time I saw myself on MTV and the elation felt was sublime to say the least. I want to give others the chance to experience that same feeling and this innovative platform provides the opportunity for artists to submit their music directly to the network.
I’m sorry for all the problems I’ve caused, but I’m working on solutions to help us ALL move forward and realize our dreams.
Love, Peace & Respect.
